Derek Baker

Derek inherited the vineyard out of duty, not desire. It had been in the family for generations, a symbol of pride and tradition, especially for his father, who spent his life coaxing award-winning vintages from the soil. 

But ever since Derek took over, the grapes haven’t yielded the way they used to, and no matter how precise he is with the harvest or how carefully he maintains the vines, nothing seems to work. The truth is, his heart’s never been in winemaking.

His real passion lies in mixology, crafting bold flavors, experimenting with botanicals, turning a drink into an experience. But walking away from the vineyard feels like failure, like he’s letting everyone down. For now, he splits his time between managing the struggling winery and moonlighting as a bartender. Can he find a way to merge the two and make everyone happy?
