Blind Date #003: J. L.

J. L. was born human into a proud bloodline of fairies and her family never let her forget it. While her siblings were showered with affection and praise, J. was ignored, overlooked, and treated like a mistake. 

This lineage of fairies had always seen humans as lesser. J.’s humanity was an unforgivable flaw. Her mother resented her for it. Her father, a human himself, did nothing to defend her, too weak-willed to stand up to his magical wife. J. learned early that she couldn’t count on anyone, not even those meant to protect her.

In her isolation, she found comfort in nature. She became a florist, not just to create beauty, but to reclaim what her family used to exclude her.

Now as an adult, J. is noncommittal, jealous, and delights in chaos, especially when it knocks the powerful down a peg. Her one burning goal? To become a spellcaster. Not just any spellcaster, but one powerful enough to challenge the very beings who cast her aside.

She says she doesn’t believe in love, but part of her still aches for connection. Will her thirst for revenge destroy her or transform her?
